What are Delta 3D Targets made of?
Delta Targets are constructed from a flexible polyurethane foam we call Tech Flex E-Z Pull Foam.

What is a Super Center?
Super Center's are pre-molded high density (10.5lb) insert units that are molded or encapsulated into the body of Elite and T-Series targets. This creates a target-within-a-target that gets denser toward the center and provides improved arrow stopping power, while maintaining easy arrow removal.

How many shots can a Delta target take?
Each target and each shooting situation is different, which means different answers will apply. Some of the factors that effect target life are:

-Distance the arrows are shot from. (Closer targets take more penetration, than further targets)

-Arrow configuration: Carbon/Aluminum/Wood, arrow diameter, Broadheads/Fieldpoints, bullet point vs. combo point, etc.

-How fast the bow shoots. (Faster bows pack more kinetic energy, thus greater penetration than slower bows)

-How good the shooter is; tighter/looser groups

-The care given the target. Targets left outdoors in the elements break down sooner. We suggest that targets be covered or moved indoors when not in use.

On average a DELTA Elite Target can take upwards of 3500 shots, while a T-Series target can withstand 4500+. The average backyard target under 'normal' shooting conditions should last between 2,000-2500 shots. Again, this depends on the model, shooter and care given the target.

Can I shoot broadheads at my 3D Target?
DELTA 3D Targets can withstand shots from broadheads. Keep in mind that the sole purpose of broadheads are to cut, and a good broadhead does just that. Whether it's flesh or foam, broadheads are intended to create big holes in the material it penetrates. If you connect enough of these cut lines on a 3D target it will result in a 'chunking' of the foam. This said, Yes, DELTA targets can be shot with broadheads with the understanding that it will diminish target life. One great target for broadhead practice is the Broadhead Buck #50350 which features the Encapsulated Layered Core system designed especially for easy arrow removal, including broadheads.

Is there something I can put on my target to protect it from the elements?
While DELTA does not recommend leaving targets outdoors, if this is not practical we suggest applying a light coat of a commercial water sealant (ex. Thompson's Water Seal). This will delay any decay caused by sun and water exposure. DELTA targets are painted using a UV additive to prevent 'yellowing' from sun exposure.

What can I use to touch up the paint on my Delta 3-D target?
Delta touch up paint is available in three basic colors (black/brown/white) to match the original paint on our 3D's. Alternatives for other colors include using any commercial latex house paint in a matte finish.

What is the difference between a T-series Target and an Elite Target?
In most cases the T-series line is molded of a heavier density foam than is the Elite series. This is due to the fact that more T-series targets are used in tournament situations, to handle more abuse. Generally, Elite series targets feature a replaceable vital area as opposed to the replacement midsections found in T-series targets.

How do I know which vital to purchase for my Delta target?
Every Delta target has a design year imprinted into the rear quarter or underbelly of the body. This year will aid in identifying which replacement vital is correct for your model. In addition, target models designed after 2000 also feature the vital part number molded into the inside edge of the vital. Please use this number when ordering. For additional questions, please contact Delta customer service for assistance (please have the target year available when calling).
